The Den Baseball Centre
Caledonia’s home for year-round baseball training — a pre-launch site built to capture members before the doors open, for a facility opening October 2026 on Industrial Drive.

The Challenge
A facility that has not opened yet has the hardest marketing problem in local business: it needs committed members on day one, but has no doors to walk through, no photos of people training, and no reviews. Every month between announcement and opening is a month of interest that evaporates if there is nowhere to put it.
It also has a geography problem worth taking seriously. Caledonia is a town of roughly 10,000 people. The facility only works if it draws from Haldimand County and south Hamilton as well — which means the site has to be findable by people who have never heard the business name and are searching for batting cages near them.
Our Approach
Turned the whole site into a waiting list
The single conversion is creating a free account, framed honestly: we will email you the moment doors open and you will be ready to book on day one. Pre-launch interest becomes a contactable list instead of a page view, and the facility opens with demand already queued rather than starting from zero.
Sold the spec, because the spec is the differentiator
Two HitTrax tunnels, a Fungoman Dual precision pitch machine, high-speed cameras in every tunnel, and per-cage detail down to dimensions and booking minimums. Serious players choose a facility on equipment, so the equipment is the content rather than generic copy about passion for the game.
Anchored it to a landmark, not just an address
"32 Industrial Drive, three minutes from Henning Park, home of the Caledonia Bears" locates the facility for the exact audience that matters. Local searchers navigate by landmarks they already know, and Henning Park is the reference point for baseball in this area.
What We Built
Pre-launch account capture
ConversionA free account is the primary call to action sitewide. It converts anonymous pre-launch interest into a contactable list, and it means launch day starts with members who are already set up to book rather than a cold audience.
Per-cage detail pages
ContentEach of the three 70′ × 16′ cages carries its own configuration — HitTrax enablement, pitching mounds, booking minimums, and whether it suits teams or individuals. Pitch machine settings are documented down to hardball, softball, and slo-pitch modes.
Technology as the positioning
DifferentiatorOpen 24/7 with member code entry, monitored surveillance, live tunnel availability, and session logging in the facility app. The stated ambition is the most tech-forward baseball facility in Ontario, and the site is structured to make that case concretely rather than as a slogan.
Regional geographic reach
Local SEOBuilt to be found across Haldimand County and Hamilton rather than Caledonia alone — necessary for a facility whose catchment is far larger than its town.
Project Status
The facility opens October 2026. This is a pre-launch build, so there is no performance data yet — these are scope figures.
Key Takeaways
- ✓A pre-launch site’s job is to build a list, not to describe a business that does not exist yet
- ✓For a facility, the equipment specification is the marketing — vague copy loses to concrete numbers
- ✓Landmark-anchored location copy outperforms a bare address for local discovery
- ✓A small-town business has to be built for its regional catchment from day one, not just its town
