# Custom Software That Runs a Business

> We build custom web applications — and we run five of our own. League platforms, booking systems, directories, and internal tools built around how your business actually works.

We do not just build software. We operate it.

Most agencies that offer custom software have built it for other people. We run five products of our own — a league platform with 48,000 pages, a booking SaaS, a national sports directory, a standings tool, and an officiating app on both app stores. When we scope your build, we are drawing on what it costs to actually operate the thing afterwards.

## When custom is the right answer

Custom software is not the default. Most businesses are better served by configuring something off the shelf, and we will say so. It becomes the right call at a specific point: when the tool you need does not exist, when per-user or per-transaction SaaS fees have grown past what a build would cost, or when the platform you are on has started dictating how your business operates instead of the reverse.

The other trigger is data. When the information running your business lives inside a vendor you cannot export from, you do not own your operation — you rent it. That is usually the moment the arithmetic flips.

## What we build

League and membership platforms, registration and payment flows, booking systems against live availability, directories and search, internal dashboards, quoting and calculation tools, and the integrations that tie them to whatever you already run.

## Why operating our own changes the build

Software that ships is not the hard part. Software that is still maintainable in year three, that handles a tournament weekend traffic spike, that a non-technical admin can actually run — that is the part you only learn by living with it. We have carried our own products through all of that, which is why we build for the maintenance phase rather than the demo.

## What you get

- Scoped against how your business actually runs, not a feature list
- Built on a stack you can hire for — Next.js, React, Node, PostgreSQL
- Your data exportable from day one, because you should own your operation
- Fixed price agreed before any work starts

## Custom Web App Development — Common Questions

### How much does custom software cost?

A focused internal tool typically runs $15,000 to $40,000. A full platform with registration, payments, and multi-user access runs $40,000 to $120,000. We scope against your actual workflow and quote a fixed price before work begins.

### When is custom worth it over off-the-shelf?

When the tool does not exist, when per-user or per-transaction fees have grown past what a build would cost, or when the platform has started dictating how you operate. Below that threshold, configuring existing software is usually the better call and we will tell you so.

### How long does a custom build take?

A focused tool takes six to ten weeks. A full platform takes three to six months. We ship in stages so you have something usable well before the final release.

### Do I own the software you build?

Yes — the code, the data, and the infrastructure. We build on mainstream technology specifically so you are never dependent on us to maintain it.
